Description
“Worried Man Blues” tab for 5 string banjo is available for sale as a download. This tab is a “package deal” of 3 different versions of banjo breaks. Each successive version is progressively more challenging than the previous. Each version comes with a repeat sign as a practice tool, but in a jam situation any of the breaks would be played only once through.
Version 1 is for the later beginner. You would need full knowledge of basic G, C, and D7 chords as well as smooth execution of slides and pull-offs.
Version 2 requires more use of slides and pull-offs with the addition of hammer-ons. The picking patterns are a little more complex than Version 1, but still approachable by the later beginner.
Version 3 is definitely for the intermediate to advanced player. It is in the “higher octave” up the neck as far as the 11th fret. There are higher-up-the-neck inversions of G chords and some tricky “double-note” positions. There is also a wide use of barres as well as melodic (or “Keith”-Style”) passages. As with any “gnarly tabs,” seek the input of an experienced instructor to walk you through this last arrangement.
