The song “Liberty” for guitar is for sale as a download and comes in both tab and music notation.
Liberty is a fine old fiddle tune traced back to at least as far as 1786! It’s still popular among many fiddle players, so it’s a good tune to have in your back pocket ready to go.
This arrangement is in the “EZ” category for flatpack guitar. It’s written in the key of C, but when you play it with a fiddle or mandolin player, you must capo at the second fret as all fiddle players know it in the key of D.
This rendition sticks to mostly quarter notes, with a few eighth notes “here and there.” The idea being that fiddle players who know this piece inside and out will play it as fast as a coyote chasing a roadrunner…thus, you will be glad to have a version that gives you the ability to keep up with these “faster-than-light” speeds!
