Soldier’s Joy for 5 String Banjo – Part 2

Gettysburg National Military Park

Just arrived is your second installment of Soldier’s Joy for the 5 string banjo in C with your banjo still in G Tuning. It walks you through the B part melody, and then provides you with a suggested accompaniment. The video lesson is available here on my YouTube channel. The tab is available at my store.

By the way – I’ve posted photos from our visit to Gettysburg National Military Park on both of my “Soldier’s Joy” posts and maybe you’ve wondered why. During the Civil War morphine was often called Soldier’s Joy because a concoction of gin and morphine was given to Soldiers to ease amputation pain.

In the near future, I will feature a fairly easy companion guitar arrangement of the tune for the makings of a banjo/guitar duet. Stay tuned… J. B.
