Description
This beautiful old Shaker hymn, is a melody that is well worth making a part of your repertoire. Composer Aaron Copland used this theme as part of his ballet masterpiece, “Appalachian Spring.” Jeff added some “extra chords” to spruce up the harmony a bit.
It is offered here for free as an incentive for guitarists to pick it up and play along with a banjo pickin’ friend who may have learned this arrangement from Jeff Belding’s banjo book, New Techniques for 5-String Banjo, Volume 1.
