The players on this album share a love of early Celtic music, old-time country, and popular folk songs. Some of these popular songs include: “The Water is Wide,” “Silver Dagger,” “Wind in the Willows,” and “Silkie.”
The album features various original compositions from Jeff Belding, Jim Lestrange and Lise Winne. Instrumentals like “The Fountain” and “LaRue’s Lament” feature the hammer dulcimer. The title track, “Saratoga Romance” highlights the fiddle in a nostalgic, melancholy waltz. “Living to Eternity” is a colorful word painting by Lise Winne, with music written by Jeff Belding.
